What is PoE MVP?
A free gear upgrade finder for Path of Exile. You paste your character, it simulates every gear slot in Path of Building and ranks the upgrades by how much DPS and survivability they add, each with a ready-made trade search.
How is it different from searching trade myself?
It works out what each of your items is holding up (resistances you'd fall under cap without, mana for your reserved skills, attributes for your gems, life and defences) and keeps those in the search, so an upgrade never quietly breaks your build. Then it tests every mod that can roll on the item to find the ones worth paying for.
Do I need to be on poe.ninja?
No. poe.ninja links are easiest, but a Path of Building code or a pobb.in link works too. The How it works page shows how to get one.
How accurate are the numbers?
They come from Path of Building's own calculations, so they're as accurate as your Path of Building setup: the config exported from poe.ninja (enemy, charges, buffs) matters. Treat them as a strong guide and check big buys in Path of Building.
Does it show prices?
Grinding Gear Games' trade site has no public price API, so the website can't fetch prices. Each search gets a rarity rating instead, and the free browser extension (on the Chrome Web Store) shows the real price and the upgrade on every listing you open.
Is it safe? Does it need my account?
No account or login. It only reads public character data (poe.ninja) or the build you paste. The extension only reads the trade listings your own browser loaded and never sends seller or account details.
Does it cover uniques, jewels and weapons?
Yes: every rare slot including weapons (with a weapon-DPS search), off-hands and jewels (including Time-Lost jewels), plus better-rolled or usefully corrupted copies of your uniques. Flasks aren't ranked, because Path of Building doesn't count them in DPS or survivability.
What else can it check besides gear?
Support gems for your main skill, your passive tree (the best notables a few points away and a refund-and-take plan), every anoint your amulet could take, and every rune or soul core that fits your sockets - with rough prices. Pick one of them on the front page, or run everything at once.
Are the suggested items real?
No - they're examples. PoE MVP builds a possible item from mods that can roll on that item type and simulates it, so you know what to look for. The trade search then finds real listings with at least those mods. Real items will differ, so check the one you buy (the browser extension scores real listings for you).
Is it free?
Yes. A small advert helps pay for the server, and there's an optional support link.
Is this made by Grinding Gear Games?
No. PoE MVP is a fan-made tool, not affiliated with Grinding Gear Games, poe.ninja or Path of Building Community.
