Last updated 29 September 2026. PoE MVP is a small fan-made tool, not affiliated with Grinding Gear Games. This page explains what it stores and why - in plain words.

The website (poemvp.com)

What you enter: the poe.ninja link or Path of Building code you paste, your options, and the character data PoE MVP fetches from poe.ninja for that link. We use it to simulate your gear.
Reports (your character's gear, stats and the upgrade suggestions) are saved on our server for 7 days so report links keep working, then deleted automatically.
Run log: for each analysis we keep the character name, class, league, how long it took and any error, to spot problems and count usage.
Avis you send (the message, optional contact details you choose to give, and which report it's about) is kept until we've dealt with it.
No accounts and no tracking cookies of our own. Your options and recent characters are remembered in your own browser (local storage). The Mes personnages page sends those characters' poe.ninja links to us only to look up their recent reports on this site; we don't keep that request.
Usage counts: we count how many times a page is opened and a few buttons are used (for example "trade search opened" or "Ko-fi link clicked") as a plain number per day. The count has no IP address, cookie, character or anything else about who clicked.
Your IP address is used briefly to stop spam and abuse (rate limiting) and is not stored with any of the above. Our web server may keep standard access logs for a short time.

The browser extension

It only runs on the Path of Exile trade sites (pathofexile.com/trade and /trade2) and on PoE MVP report pages (poemvp.com and poe1.poemvp.com).
On the trade site it reads the listings your page already loaded and sends each item's mods and asking price to poemvp.com, together with the id of your last opened PoE MVP report, so they can be simulated against your character. Nothing else leaves the page: no seller names, account names, whisper details, cookies or login information. It never makes requests to the trade site itself.
When you open one of your report's trade searches, it also sends how many listings that search found and the asking prices of the cheapest ten (amount and currency only, with the report id and which search it was). We keep those numbers to show typical prices on reports and to price uniques - they aren't linked to any seller or account.
Item data sent by the extension is used only to calculate the numbers shown to you and is not stored after the calculation (apart from normal short-lived server logs).
In your browser it stores which report (character) you last opened, the last report search you clicked, and, if you change it, the server address. Opening its popup asks poemvp.com for that report's top upgrades (by report id only).
Obtenir les vrais prix (from version 0.6, only when you click it on a report): the extension runs up to five of the report's trade searches on the official trade site from your browser, one every couple of seconds, without your login or cookies, and shows the cheapest listings. The number of listings and their prices (amount and currency only) are sent to poemvp.com like above. It needs your permission once to reach the trade site's search.

Sharing and your choices

Class pages: the Classes pages show totals across many reports (for example "gloves were a top upgrade for 60% of Deadeyes"). They never show a character, account or report, and a class only gets a page once several characters of it have been checked.
Ko-fi supporters: if you support PoE MVP on Ko-fi and make it public, Ko-fi tells us the name and message you chose, and we list them on the Supporters page. Private supporters are only counted. We never receive or keep amounts, emails or payment details.
We don't sell or share your data. Other services we use: poe.ninja (character and currency data we request) and our hosting provider, which runs the server.
Anyone with a report link can open that report for 7 days - only share it if you're happy for others to see it.
